About a week after my brother called me to let me know that he and his company had gone bankrupt, I found out that my wife was going to lose our job. It seemed like we were running out of options. We had already been to the Debt Consolidation, and done everything that we could there to lower our payments. I called a friend of mine to tell him about the situations that were happening, and he told me that he could relate. He did offer a few words of advice though, and I have kept them very close to my heart.

We’ve been struggling to find just the right contractor to help with our kitchen remodel. It’s not that there aren’t several qualified contractors here in town. The problem has really been one of making sure we get someone who is skilled and reliable. After the nightmare with the roofing last year, we’ve been really hesitant to dive back in to another project, especially our kitchen. We spend so much time in there.
We finally struck gold. Dave emailed me an Angies List promotional code to sign up for their site. Lo and behold, they’ve got contractor ratings on everybody in town from people like us who have actually used them.
So now we’ve got it narrowed down to a short list of three. We also got a chance to go in and rate the guy that gave us our leaky roof. Hope we can save somebody else the same trouble.

A friend of mine recently finished a complete renovation of his master bathroom suite (as he now refers to it as). And after seeing it first-hand, I understand why. The dimensions of the bath area are the same. The layout and fixtures, however, are not. Gone is the traditional bathtub and shower and in its place rests an excellent example of ofuro bathtubs. First off, I will say in my husband’s defence that he works hard. It’s no surprise that he sleeps a lot when he’s not working, I just wish I could get to spend more time with him. I’m an avid gardener so most weekends I am outside whilst he’s asleep on the settee. In an attempt to lure him outside I treated him to an outdoor hammock. It has kind of worked, he loves it so much that he is always outside in it, but he now seems to sleep more than he did before and I didn’t think that was possible. Oh well, at least he’s with me and he does seem a lot more rested and relaxed when he is awake.

We decided on spending out on my sister’s inlaws 35th birthday to make it a very special event. To supply us with a marquee to get a real feel of fun and style, we went with Marquee hire Berkshire as we also had permission to use a piece of ground owned by the national trust. The Perfect ambience was gained by installing the marquee with a dark age décor and illuminating it within an inch of its life. We hired a caterer and a local ale house to bring the food and drinks which turned out particularly well as the caterer was a wonder with the barbecue. The marquee hire Berkshire was really good since they came ahead and made the marquee perfect for the event. The national trust building covered our marquee allowing reality to be lent to our pretence of the dark age effect and time. We were so pleased to see people had gone to such lengths to dress up for the party as the guests arrived. It made me laugh when my brother arrived with his great danes like some high ranking lord. Some people who had eaten larger quantities of wine chucked some food over to them.
