Credit Card Pros: Traveling Abroad

I know that there are great numbers of people out there who are either fearful of owning a credit card or downright hostile to the notion of needing one. I’m not saying that these people’s misgivings aren’t grounded, but I still believe that there are situations for which credit cards are often handy and more feasible than other monetary options.

Traveling is a perfect example of this - especially when done outside of the United States. Provided you are aware of all fees, using a card can be a great way of taking care of currency exchanges. With the right card, rates won’t likely differ from major currency brokers and banks. Likewise, it is far more comfortable to carry a card than it is a large sum of foreign currency.
