I have a few close friends that I hold dear. Among all the things that we have in common we all share a love for coffee. So each year around Christmas time we try to out do each other by sending the best gift with a coffee theme of course. Marty sent us all I’m a Java head tee shirts one year and Samantha sent everyone gift certificates to Starbucks. This year I think I have everyone beat. I decided to buy ground coffee and have it place in small bags with exotic labels naming them as the brand. I am sure everyone will be quite surprised to see their names on the labels.

We’ve been struggling to find just the right contractor to help with our kitchen remodel. It’s not that there aren’t several qualified contractors here in town. The problem has really been one of making sure we get someone who is skilled and reliable. After the nightmare with the roofing last year, we’ve been really hesitant to dive back in to another project, especially our kitchen. We spend so much time in there.
We finally struck gold. Dave emailed me an Angies List promotional code to sign up for their site. Lo and behold, they’ve got contractor ratings on everybody in town from people like us who have actually used them.
So now we’ve got it narrowed down to a short list of three. We also got a chance to go in and rate the guy that gave us our leaky roof. Hope we can save somebody else the same trouble.

First off, I will say in my husband’s defence that he works hard. It’s no surprise that he sleeps a lot when he’s not working, I just wish I could get to spend more time with him. I’m an avid gardener so most weekends I am outside whilst he’s asleep on the settee. In an attempt to lure him outside I treated him to an outdoor hammock. It has kind of worked, he loves it so much that he is always outside in it, but he now seems to sleep more than he did before and I didn’t think that was possible. Oh well, at least he’s with me and he does seem a lot more rested and relaxed when he is awake.

My wife says that it is a big waste of time, but I think it is one of the most relaxing things to do. Besides, when we were kids we used to have pen pals all over the world. Now the pagan chat room that I hang out in is very much like pen pals for adults. I love the idea of meeting new people all over the country and world. There is nothing that those people wont tell you. It’s amazing at how quickly they start to open up and share with you intimate deals that they might not tell anyone else.
