FTCA bans use of treatment and cure claims by makers of coral calcium
Several years ago, those who market coral calcium were forbidden from making claims that this supplement was able to treat and cure certain diseases. Some of the more serious diseases include cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, and others. A settlement was reached between the makers and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). They are prohibited from making claims that scientific research has proven that coral calcium is effective against any disease. The wide claims such as the body’s ability to absorb more calcium from coral calcium than drinking two gallons of milk were also banned. It is not known which specific case sparked this settlement.
