Making a Modern Room
Making a modern room in your home is not as difficult as one would think. Nor does it have to be expensive. Second hand and consignment stores tend to carry many types of furniture and even if a piece may not be called “modern”, it can still work if it has clean lines and a geometric or ergonomic shape. Overstuffed cushions or log furniture would definitely be an exception, however, furniture with a straight, angled back and arms, not fully rounded, will do, even if its floral because you can always recover it. Choose pieces that are geometric and sophisticated that are made of various materials for accents, wall decor and lighting. Remember to use bright basic colors in any combination. Moder design is about elegance, simplicity, lines and shapes. The cleaner and less cluttered the pieces you choose, the more modern your room will feel.
