Foundation of a Baseball Swing

Your stance and stride are the foundation to your baseball swing. You must have a strong and balanced base in order to be a well rounded hitter. Having that strong base enables you to make the small adjustments to adapt to any pitch. Whether it is an inside or outside pitch, whether it is a fast or off-speed pitch, having the same base right before you commit to the pitch is vital. You’ll be able to hit the ball to all fields and effectively make those small adjustments.

There are obviously many other aspects of a baseball swing and even more details that make up a fundamentally sound swing, but nothing else really matters if it’s built on a weak base. Having a comfortable and balanced stance and timing stride are essential to becoming a great baseball hitter.
